July WineLibrary Tweet-Up

Last night my good friend Matt and I attended the Second Tweet-Up at Gary Vaynerchuk’s Wine Library in New Jersey. Gary shot a WineLibrary.tv epsiode, had a wine tasting and finally invited us all up to his office. When we got to the office we had the awesome opportunity to talk business and web 2.0. Gary also recorded some great thoughts about a “new” player in the internet. I say “new” with quotes becuase it is an unlikely candidate … AOL of all companies they are doing some pretty incredible game changing online right now. Last night was a great chance to meet a lot of people from around the Philly, Jersey, New York area. As well as learn more about Social Media, Web 2.0 and really what it comes down to is “new business”. Let’s be real, and Gary has been preaching this for a while now, the old business models are failing and failing fast. The New York Times is going to be going out of business soon, and TV stations will not be far behind. These big companies need to find a new business model if they want to survive.

There will soon be a TON of money avaliable for advertising and sponsorships. Will you be one of those people that goes out to Crush It online and create a niche for yourself? Or will you be the one trying to figure out why you can’t seem to find a newspaper or magazine to read before you get the plane?
